I just got the information on the November show in Vevay, Indiana. The show is at the Belterra Casino Resort & Spa. The doors open at 7pm (Eastern time) and the show starts at 8pm. If you are a Champions Club member of the casino the admission is free, otherwise it is $20. I will be the emcee for the show. God, I haven't done an emcee spot for a few years! This should be interesting. I will be working with Steve Brewer and Dan Whitehurst. Below is a link to the Belterra Casino Resort & Spa website. I am working on a flyer for the show coming up in January in Eddyville, IA. You south central Iowa people will start seeing them posted soon, hopefully. I expect to have a standing room only turn out for this show, people! It is going to be a blast you won't want to miss!!!
Just got it confirmed tonight... Saturday, January 14th I will be performing at the Brickhouse in Eddyville, Iowa. All you Ottumwa area people who keep asking when I'm going to be in your area had better show the hell up! My buddy Greg Larson, www.madmancomedy.com, will be opening for me. Greg is the house emcee for the FunnyBone comedy club in Bloomington, IL. He is one hell of a funny guy and originally from Ottumwa. Yes the local boys are coming home to tear it up!!! If you don't show up for this show then you are going to miss out BIG TIME! The show will be at 9pm that night. They will be selling tickets in advance for $5 and $7 at the door (don't quote me on that, but I think it's correct).
A lot of people are asking me when I'm coming to Rockford, IL as well. I am working on it. The best thing I can tell everyone is that if you want me to come to your town, talk to your local club, bar, etc. and let them know you want me to perform there. Give them my website address and then shoot me an e-mail telling me who you talked to and I will follow up with them. If enough people say, "I want John Vorhees to perform here!" they will get me there.
A lot of stuff has been going on. I am working on getting a show set up in the Ottumwa, Iowa area with my buddy Greg Larson. Since both Greg and I are from that area we have been wanting to do this for a while. We don't have the date set as of yet, but it is looking like sometime in January 2006. Once I get more information confirmed I will post it and send out an e-mail update. Make sure you are on the newsletter e-mail list to get the updates as soon as possible!
I just confirmed that I will be performing for the LRB Distributors Christmas party in December. They are this area's Anheuser-Busch distributor. I am really looking forward to that, it should be a blast! Do you think they will be serving beer?
Last night I performed at the Railside in Nelson, Illinois. That was a fun time! I opened for Jer Dog as part of his "Grassroots Comedy Tour". He is a pleasure to work with and a very funny guy. Everybody at the Railside was great as well. I saw a few familiar faces in the audience which was nice. I'm pretty sure a good time was had by all. The November 5th show in McBrides, MI fell through. I'm looking to pick something else up between now and then to fill it. I will post new additions to the schedule as I get them confirmed. Make sure you check back often.
